The gluteus maximus or glutes form your buttocks. These muscles are generally used to extend the leg into a straight line with the torso as well as to rotate the leg at the hip. To Stretch the glute syou first lie on your back with your left leg bent. Then cross your other leg over your knee so your right ankle rests just above your knee. Then hold behind the left thigh with both hands and gently pull towards until you feel a stretch in your bottom and outer thigh.
